Alex started to show German Shepherd Dogs in 1964 and bred many top dogs in Taiwan. He has also owned & bred Dobermann, Boxer, Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Poodle, Shetland Sheepdog, Bulldog, Miniature Schnauzer, Shar Pei, Welsh Corgi Pembroke, Siberian Husky, American Cocker Spaniel, Yorkshire Terrier, Shih Tzu, Maltese, Papillon, Pomeranian, Japanese Spitz, Beagle, and Dachshunds.

He was licensed to judge German Shepherd Dogs in 1974 and was qualified as all-rounder in 1990. He has judged in China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, Korea, USA, Singapore and India.
