Satoshi has been familiar with dogs since childhood and was involved in showing Akitas, Japanese Spitz and German Shepherd Dogs from the age of 10.

He began breeding Pomeranians in 1975 and has also been involved in breeding German Shepherd Dogs, Papillons, Toy Poodles and Standard Poodles and some other breeds.

Satoshi qualified to judge Pomeranians in 1980. He retired from handling in 1988 to focus on judging. He received his All Breeds license in 2002. He has judged at many shows throughout Japan including the FCI International Dog Show and the JKC National Pomeranian Specialty Shows, and has judged many times in Europe, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, the Republic of China, South Africa and Thailand.
